Eating out of the garden
It is wonderful to be eating out of the garden again! This is a salad that I made a couple of days ago from some spinach that I had hidden away in the back of the fridge.
For the past nine years I created and managed a small Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) project in Bay Shore, N.Y. I was awarded a Certificate of Master Gardener from Cornell Cooperative Extention of Suffolk County in 1993 and was named Master Gardener of the Year in 2007. I was owner of a small garden design and planting business from 1993-1997 and worked at a nursery/ garden center from 1989-1993. I've been a member of a GCA affiliated garden club for more than 20 years serving as both board member and flower show chairman and was awarded the GCA Civic Improvement Award for promoting community educational and outreach programs. I am currently a partner in Community Roots: Green and Strong, a grant whose purpose is to facilitate the development of CSA's in underserved areas of Suffolk County, NOFA-NY, Long Island Farm Bureau, Cornell Cooperative Extention of Suffolk County, and South Side Garden Club. This blog is about applying what I've learned to my home garden.
your salads are my favorite, just fabulous!
